Advancing Cardinal
Hayes High School

Recruitment and retention of top students is of highest priority to Hayes. The number one reason for students not coming to Hayes is the amount of financial aid available per student.

Nearly $2.3 million in financial aid was awarded to Hayes students during the 2014-2015 academic year, but the need for financial aid is significantly greater than the School and Cardinal and Gold’s ability to provide. Hayes looks to enhance its ability to give assistance to needy students to enroll and remain at Hayes.

Forever Hayes looks to address
four major funding priorities.

  • Cardinal & Gold Endowment Fund The endowment helps us remain financially healthy and viable and provide our students with enriching experiences.

    & GOld Fund

Since 1992, Cardinal Hayes High School has understood the critical importance of having a solvent endowment fund to protect it from future uncertainties and to provide support to the school. The Cardinal and Gold Fund, the general endowment for Hayes, helps to offset the widening operating deficit and allow tuition to remain low.

  • Financial Assistance for Students A healthy and viable school with great teachers, facilities and available financial assistance attracts the best students.

  • Faculty Development & Retention A healthy and viable school attracts great teachers who are looking for career development and advancement.

    Investment
    in faculty

Forever Hayes would like to provide continuing education, professional development, and certification in the teachers’ fields of study. By making this investment, we will be able to provide rewarding careers for our most valuable resource – our teachers.

    a need for degrees

Cardinal Hayes High School needs more instructors with master’s degrees.

The strength of an academic institution rests most heavily on the strength and leadership of its educators. Hayes has tremendously talented and committed faculty, but the number of certificate and master’s degree holding teachers is about half that of public school peers.

Cardinal Hayes is committed to attracting and retaining the best teachers and providing opportunities for their development and advancement.

  • Capital Investments Excellent facilities help attract top students, teachers, and parents who wish to send their young men to Hayes.

The announcement in 2009 that all Archdiocesan high schools would become independent entities with their own governing bodies forever changed the relationship between CHHS and the Archdiocese. While the Archdiocese owns the physical plant and is responsible for its upkeep, any improvements must be made by the school. Through Forever Hayes, we look to provide the best and most relevant learning environment for this and future generations of students.
